About EcoRise
Inspiring youth to build a sustainable tomorrow through hands-on education, youth-led innovation, and community partnerships.
Our Mission
EcoRise is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Naperville, Illinois, founded in April 2026 to transform students' passion for protecting the planet into meaningful action. We believe environmental education should go beyond lectures and worksheets by providing hands-on experiences that build knowledge, confidence, and leadership. Through our Summer Camp, Green Dream Challenge, workshops, and service projects, we empower K–12 students to learn by doing, develop innovative environmental solutions, and create lasting impact in their communities—because the next generation of environmental leaders is already here; they just need the opportunity to rise.

Evan Xu
Founder & President
Evan founded EcoRise with a passion for environmental education and community building. He leads the organization's vision and partnerships to connect schools, sponsors, and volunteers with opportunities for young people to take action.
Shawn Chen
Vice President of Operations
Shawn oversees day-to-day operations that keep EcoRise programs running smoothly. He coordinates schedules, logistics, and session planning so every camp and workshop stays organized for students.
Josh McConkey
Vice President of Marketing
Josh oversees marketing and brand strategy for EcoRise, managing outreach campaigns and public engagement to grow the organization's community footprint.
