Before You Attend

Office Hours Policy

To make sure every student gets the most out of office hours and arrives prepared, please follow the guidelines below.

Pre-Submission Requirement

Email ecorisenfp@gmail.com at least 24 hours before your scheduled session with:

  • At least 3 specific and detailed questions
  • Any ideas, updates, or materials you want feedback on
  • This helps us make your session productive and tailored to your progress

Reminder Requirement

Send a confirmation email to ecorisenfp@gmail.com at least 12 hours before your scheduled office hours.

  • A quick reminder helps us confirm your slot and prepare for your visit
  • If we do not receive a reminder, your slot may be cancelled

EcoRise office hours are in-person drop-in mentorship at local libraries.

  • Come ready to brainstorm, refine your idea, or get project feedback
  • Location details are always listed on the schedule before each session

Green Dream Requirement

Green Dream Challenge participants are expected to attend office hours as they prepare for the competition.

  • Use sessions to brainstorm with mentors and strengthen your project
  • Regular attendance helps you stay on track and ready for presentation day

If any of these policies are not followed, we reserve the right to cancel your request.

Everything you need to know about EcoRise, Green Dream Challenge, summer camp, and our office hours.

EcoRise is a free environmental education nonprofit for K–12 students. Through summer camp, office hours, and Green Dream Challenge, we help students turn sustainability ideas into real projects with mentorship and hands-on learning.

Green Dream Challenge is EcoRise’s student competition where participants create advocacy or innovation projects that make their community more sustainable. Students can compete solo or in teams of up to 3 and present to mentors and judges.

EcoRise summer camp is a free environmental leadership program for K–8th grade students. Sessions build from exploring local ecosystems to preparing sustainability projects, including pathways into Green Dream Challenge.

Yes. EcoRise programs, including summer camp, office hours, and Green Dream Challenge participation, are free for students and families.

No. Students do not need prior sustainability, science, or competition experience. Mentors help beginners brainstorm ideas and help advanced students strengthen their projects.

Bring curiosity and any notes or materials related to their idea. For office hours, email ecorisenfp@gmail.com ahead of time with questions and updates so mentors can prepare. A laptop or notebook is helpful but not required.

Not at all. You do not need a finished idea. Come to brainstorm, refine your concept, or get help choosing between Advocacy and Innovation.

Yes. Summer camp is a great way to prepare, but it is not required. Students can join Green Dream Challenge and use office hours for mentorship on their own.

No. Green Dream Challenge is open to students whether or not they attended summer camp. Camp participants are welcome and often use office hours to keep building their projects.

There are two tracks. Advocacy includes posters, art, video, campaigns, and public awareness projects. Innovation includes apps, solar ideas, recycling tools, water-saving devices, and other hands-on sustainability solutions.

Yes. Students can compete solo or in teams of up to 3 members in Green Dream Challenge.

A video submission option is available if you cannot present in person. For the 2026 event, videos needed to be submitted by July 29th. Future dates will be posted with registration details.
